Uncover the Greatness Within

February 20th, 2023

How much ⚡️POWER⚡️do you have?

Do you recognize the power you have to not only shift your own life, but the minds and outcomes of others as well?

You have the power to decide your mood, to decide what happens in the day, to decide what happens in your life.

Now, let me be clear:

🚫This does NOT mean hard things don’t come your way.

✅ This DOES mean you decide how you will respond to those things.

How you show up for each day takes effort. If you roll out of bed and jump into the day without preparing your mindset, you’ll likely fall prey to all of the garbage thrown your way.

If you wake up and are intentional around knowing what potential challenges could hang you up, you can already begin solving for those challenges before they’re even realized.

It’s the difference between:

🚫I have a meeting today and I know it’s going to go terribly. They’re just going to tell me what I’m doing wrong.

✅ I have a meeting today and I get the opportunity for feedback. I welcome different perspectives because it will help me continue to refine myself.

Put on a lens that sees the world for what you get to do or go through vs just getting immersed in what is happening.

It quite literally reframes the situation for your brain. It impacts you both psychologically and physiologically.

Today…I choose to view the world through the motto on my coffee cup. I am not subtle. I am opinionated. I take up space. I’ll lend you some of mine if you need it. I brought my own chair to the table. I will bring an extra chair for you too, if you need it.

Today, be a stiletto in a room full of flats 😉 (This is an old post, but a good one to kick off your week!!)

5 tips for a productive work week

  1. Start the evening before. Review your schedule for the next day noting anything that may need prep work ahead of time. Mentally prepare for the day before you go to sleep. This can also help turn off those random thoughts that can prevent you from being able to fall asleep. 📆

  2. The morning of: Make a list of the top 3 priority items that must get accomplished. If everything else falls flat but you complete these items, you can still feel like you got the "W"

  3. De-clutter your workspace. Going into a clean office allows your brain to process more clearly, not to mention you don't have to dig through piles of a mess to find what you are looking for. At the end of each workday, make it a habit to take 5 minutes and tidy up. There is NOTHING better than walking into a clean, organized office. #CrushingIt

  4. Limit your distractions. If you have 10 tabs open on your computer or phone, your brain will want to be looking or scrolling at those tabs. Close them all out except what you are currently working on.

  5. Take a few breaks throughout the day. Set an alarm on your phone and take a 5-10 min break every 2-3 hours. This will help you clear your mind. Have some snacks at your desk so that you don't go the whole day without eating due to being "busy" as it can cause or contribute to headaches, decreased energy, and low blood sugar. 🥑

Bonus tip: Celebrate your micro wins each day 🎉

Inspirus 2023 Trends & Forecasts Report: Q1

"This report uses the collective wisdom and thought leadership of our Inspirus team to reveal what we see as trending now and our vision of how these trends will impact the future of our industry and our clients’ programs. And, as a part of the multinational Sodexo Group, we’re able to layer in insights that drive quality of life from the prestigious Sodexo Quality of Life Institute." Here are some of the biggest takeaways.

Organizations are:

  • Upleveling their benefits and getting really creative in how to retain and attract their top talent

  • Strengthening and fostering strategic thinking. In these current economic times, people need to be thinking and working smarter and business needs to be less transactional. New skillsets are being taught.

  • Addressing "quiet quitting" and culture by getting more flexible and creative in hopes of increasing employee engagement.

  • Making some leadership moves. The type of leadership matters and to create a resilient workforce, you must have a well rounded, respected leader in place.

  • Innovation seems to be in a lull. Check out the graph below

"The task of leadership is not to put greatness into humanity, but to elicit it, for the greatness is already there."
