Make it an amazing Monday, friend!

Compassion from the lens of a 14 year old❀️

My 14 year old son, Joshua, went to a local McDonald's last week and came home almost in tears.

He immediately had to tell me about an encounter he had. He was with a friend of his and they went to get an ice cream cone. While waiting they saw a very elderly man sitting at a table alone. When he went to get up, he hit the side of his tray with his walker and knocked all of his french fries on the ground. My son immediately went over to help him clean them up and made sure he got new fries. The gentleman was very appreciative. They waved goodbye as he was leaving and my son noticed he left his cell phone on the table. He grabbed it and ran out to give it to this man and then returned back into the store. A few minutes later, as he and his friend were walking home, they came across the gentleman once again as they were all walking in the same direction and they struck up a conversation. My son was blown away that he is 97 years old and has cancer. He asked him if he needed help getting back home. He then proceeded to tell him that he walks, with a walker, over a mile each way to get to McDonalds and that he does it to keep himself moving. He lost his Wife, but has 9 kids and 13 grandchildren. He offered to give my son money, but he declined saying instead I'll take a hug. As they parted ways, the gentleman told him his parents had raise him well. (Insert melting Momma heart here)

My son is almost 15 and can, at times, be a royal pain in the a$$. πŸ˜‚ That said, he is one of the most empathetic humans I know. I secretly hope he becomes a Pediatrician, a Veterinarian, or a Pastor. He has immeasurable depth in his heart for kids, animals, the elderly, and anyone who feels lost. He has dreamt of becoming a Police Officer since he was knee high to a grasshopper. He will serve humanity well in whatever he does.

Next time you see a teenager, don't count them out. They have more depth than we give them credit for. Most of us went through weird phases in that time of our lives. When I write my book, I'll share some stories that could curl your hair about my wild and rebellious teenage years. We have to continue pouring into our kiddos...even when we want to pull our hair out or feel like they don't deserve it...I say that with experience. πŸ˜‰

I can't wait for the days he can look back on these years, like I do my youth, and think I can't believe I used to do or act like that. Love them when it's hard and help them grow into someone who is going to change the world in the most magnificent way. πŸ’™ πŸ’™ πŸ’™

5 Tips For Achieving GREATNESS in Business and Life

πŸ’‘ Have a clear purpose and vision: Set specific goals and create a roadmap to achieve them. Be clear on what you want to achieve and why you want to achieve it.

πŸ’‘ Continuous learning and improvement: Continuously work on developing your skills, knowledge, and expertise. Seek out mentorship, courses, conferences and be open to feedback. We live in a time where so much is available to us at the click of a browser.

πŸ’‘ Embrace failure: Failure is an essential part of growth and learning, don't let them discourage you. Learn from them, make changes, and move forward with a magnified perspective.

πŸ’‘ Take calculated risks: Don’t be afraid of taking risks. Weigh out the pros and cons of each new opportunity and take calculated risks. Sometimes bold moves can generate the most successful outcomes.

πŸ’‘ Build a strong support system: Surround yourself with people who share your values, support your goals, and can offer new perspectives. Build a network of people who can guide and inspire you to reach your full potential.
