Do You Feel Worthy? 💝

I started reading Jamie Kern Lima’s new book, “WORTHY: How to Believe You Are Enough and Transform Your Life”.
and man has it hit home. She is the Founder of IT Cosmetics and the woman who sold that same business to Loreal for 1.2 BILLION dollars. Let me be clear, this is not just a book for women. This is a book for anyone who has ever struggled, publicly or personally, with feelings of unworthiness.

She talks through her own battle with feeling unworthy, how being adopted was a thread in there, what she did to continue pushing through when people were telling her no, thinking outside of the box and pushing back when everyone told her she would only be successful if she did it in a way that felt inauthentic to her.

On the brink of her company going into bankruptcy, she met with an investor group who she was sure would be the ones to help her save the company. The deal moved into diligence and at the last moment, he told her it was a no from them, but congratulations on all she had done. She asked why they didn’t want to invest to which the investor responded, do you want the truth? She said she did. He told her that he didn’t think there was a market that would ever buy the makeup she was selling from “someone who looks like her with her weight”.

Fast forward 7 years and 1.2 BILLION dollars later. She got an email from that gentleman as the groundbreaking deal went public. He said “Congratulations. I was wrong.”

Jamie isn’t an overnight success. She has stuck with it through allll the things. She attributes every rejection as God’s re-direction. In a recent podcast with Ed Mylett she shared that she began telling herself when she was rejected that it wasn’t because she wasn’t worthy, it was because God chose not to reveal her value to that person because they were not assigned to her destiny.

Imagine for just a moment what your life would be like if you adopted that same philosophy.

If the next time something didn’t work out, or a relationship or friendship ended, or you were fired or laid off
you said to yourself: God hid my value from that person or situation because they were not assigned to my destiny. đŸ”„đŸ”„đŸ”„

I get nothing out of it, but I will recommend this book to EVERYONE. Best 18 bucks you can spend this year. And to top it off, she is donating 100% of the proceeds.

Something worth watching:

The one thing we all have in common is we came from our Mother.

Some have great relationships with their Moms today and some don’t. Some Moms are no longer here on earth and some may be in another room.

All that said, you can’t help but love this video of Terrion Arnold giving his Mom a public shoutout for raising him right and reminds her that she overcame so much at a young age. He says how proud of her he is and that he will never forget where he came from.

I’m not crying. You’re crying. 😭

A quote that I've been sitting with this week:

“If you are going to achieve excellence in big things, you develop the habit in little matters.”

When you step into the operating room, every decision carries weight, but what happens when that weight becomes too much?

I had the opportunity to sit down with Bryan Sagray, former surgeon who traded his scalpel for the chance to rewire minds as a personal coach for your brain. Together, we explore the intricate dance of high performance—how the precision and focus honed in surgery can be redirected to cultivate mindfulness, wellness, and a life lived with intention.

Burnout doesn't knock; it barges in, unannounced and unwelcome, often leaving devastation in its wake. Bryan and I share personal tales of confronting this silent adversary, and the metamorphosis it spurred within us. We discuss the restructuring of identity post-burnout, the restorative power of mentorship, and how personal loss reframes our perception of time and priorities. We unravel the support systems that act as our lifelines, guiding us back to authenticity when the path seems lost.
