🎉 Birthdays Are a Time for Reflection 🎉

As birthdays roll around, I get really reflective on what this last year has meant to AND for me. Mine was last week and I was so grateful for it. Some people dread turning a year older, but I love it. Each year I experience more joy, wisdom, and life lessons that shape me into the next version of myself. I carry with me a little less fear and worry. Life will never be completely free of these things, but you place less emphasis on them and it hits the heart and soul differently.

It’s amazing how fast 365 days go by. This first year of being an entrepreneur has been one of change and growth. It hasn’t been super smooth, which should be no surprise. There have been many days that I was filled with doubt and fear. I make a point to honor those feelings for a moment and then let them go. It serves no one to stay in that place. I have experienced some high highs and some low lows.

Often times when we are new at something it can feel hard or disheartening. This feeling can lead some people to quit before they see any progress. It is in “sticking with it” that we are willing to be bad at something for long enough to get better. Everyone has to put the reps in to earn progress. It is just the other side of us pushing ourselves, when we think it won’t work or we’ve failed, that we see the light.

I am also incredibly grateful to have spent more time with my family. We have been able to travel and explore. I took the trip of a lifetime with my Momma to Ireland…one that had been put off for years already. There has been a soulful sense of freedom to roam. Next week we will pack up our trailer and kiddos to head to Lake Tahoe for 8 days. Another trip that we’ve talked about for years now and never done.

Cheers to more sunrise birthday hikes, wisdom, lessons, and all of the living, laughing, and loving that each new year brings!!

The most recent numbers on turnover are terrifying.

The most up to date data shows our national turnover rate among all industries is 47%, down from 57% in 2020. It would seem things are improving, right? Think again. 47.4 million people quit in 2021, and over 50 million people quit in 2022.

Per a recent Gallup survey: People want “relationships, particularly with a manager who can coach them to the next level”

Organizations and leaders who are willing to get introspective are the ones who will make the needed adjustments and thrive. The others will get left behind in the dust.
