Wishing you a blessed Thanksgiving week, friend!

How often do you inspect what you expect?

Having a high set of standards only works when you are willing to hold everything and everyone to that.

I caught the team at the The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company holding true to those standards. I hadn’t even noticed this little chip of paint on the wall. I was completely oblivious to it, but they noticed.

My guess is someone had probably gone by and scraped up against it with something. They sent a couple people in to quietly assess and within hours, you’d have never known that it had been an issue. This is how committed they are to high standards. Even with tiny chips of paint on the wall.

The Ritz Carlton prides themselves on providing an indelible experience. They know your name, your kids names, they remember all of the little details about you and what you like and they ensure your surroundings are flawless.

This level of service and attention doesn’t happen without intense efforts, consistency, and holding everyone and everything to this level of expectation.

I’d encourage you to explore the Ritz Carlton’s and the Chick-fil-A’s of the world. They set the bar incredibly high and then they take every measure to maintain that. It is evident in their consistency of communication, training, service, products, and customer satisfaction.

We could learn a thing or two, both personally and professionally, by getting introspective on how we inspect what we expect.

When we raise the bar for ourselves, it then raises the bar for those around us. And you know my favorite saying…a rising tide raises all ships! 🚢

Tell me something good 🎵🎶🎵🎶

With all that is going on in the world today, this is a weekly opportunity for us to share something good that has happened to us recently. Seriously. If you respond to this email, you get me. I’d love to hear from you!

Sometimes connections are simply magnetic.

When I met Kareisha Phillips, I knew this woman was a powerhouse. She shared that she wanted to start a podcast and share her story.

I didn’t know her story. As a matter of fact, I knew nothing about her but I KNEW her story needed to get out. I KNEW somebody in the world was waiting for her to share it.

Let me tell you this is a woman of action. 🔥

I told her that she didn’t need to have it all mapped out. She didn’t need fancy equipment. She just needed to hit record and get episode 1 out.

3 days later she released the trailer and her podcast, Y.W.O.G. (Young Women of God) is LIVE ✨✨✨

Cheers to women of courage creating ripples of inspiration in the world!! 🫶🏼

If you don’t follow KP yet, go do it now! Go follow her podcast on Spotify and as she releases more episodes share them and leave her some love by way of a review. ❤️

Let’s root her on for this next step in her journey.

Watch out world….this girl is on fire 🔥

Challenge for the week: Pick 1 or do both:

  1. Use your light to shine it on someone else. Highlight the amazing things they are doing. It is so gratifying to pour out on someone else and watch them radiate.

  2. Tomorrow before you get to the office, compliment a random stranger. Be authentic, but go out of your way to compliment them on their outfit, their smile, their energy, their laugh. You will literally see them stand up a little taller, smile a little bigger. Give that gift to someone today!

Making someone else smile is contagious enough to cause a smile on your face as well. When you smile, your brain releases dopamine, endorphins and serotonin. These neurotransmitters are associated with lowering your anxiety and increasing feelings of happiness. That is a win-win!

A quote that I've been sitting with this week:

“Most of us have two lives. The life we live, and the unlived life within us. Between the two stands resistance.”
